On Wednesday morning Annette and Richard took an interesting and often amusing session on historical newspapers as a reflection of their times.
Annette went through some of the resources available through the library’s Premium Databases. She looked at some of the international papers as well as more local flavour such as Niupepa and the New Zealand Gazette Archive. She shared with us a snapshot of what is a wealth of information available capturing day-to-day life in times gone by.
Richard shared some historical articles from The Truth evidencing a very different New Zealand with very different attitudes from the one we live in today. This was a great opportunity to get a taste of some of the fantastic resources available and Annette and Richard will be repeating this library liaison session on Tuesday 22nd June 10-11 at Papanui.
