CINCH and the reference interview

CINCH – Community Information Christchurch

Don’t forget CINCH, Community Information Christchurch database when doing research enquiries. It’s particularly useful if a borrower making an enquiry about a particular book expresses great interest in the subject. “I could also see if there is a club in this area (or Christchurch) for this if you’d like” is one approach to take.  It’s a good opportunity to do a wee spiel about the 6,000 plus organisations and courses that can be accessed by CINCH.

Printing off the CINCH page with all the club’s contact information, hours, meeting locations etc can be a great goodwill gesture.  Below is a mere token sampling to convey something of the range of recreational activities accessed via the CINCH database.
