Sally Thompson, Christchurch City Libraries Places and Spaces Manager, has launched into her European study tour with a visit to Newcastle City Library. You can read her impressions here in the Sally and Edith in Europe blog.
Some of the libraries she is visiting include Worcester, Amsterdam, Halmstad, Stockholm and Copenhagen. Newcastle City Library was opened in 2009. It operates over six levels, with a large cafe and a high degree of self service.
Sally’s study tour is funded by her winning the LIANZA award, the Edith Jessie Carnell Travelling Scholarship.
